In spite of the residential area, a large region of Lantau Island is remained to be countryside region – and this helps to make Hong Kong to be a very special city – a densely populated cosmopolitan city surrounded by natural landscapes. With our well developed train, cable car and bus services, there has been a growing number of people, whom are from the city, willing to visit Lantau Island these years. When you talk about Lantau this place, the places come up with your mind should be the Disneyland Resort, the International Airport, the Big Buddha and Tai O. No worries, I am not about to persuade you to get into these “luxurious” places LOL. In contrary, I would like to introduce you guys a nice place for having picnic with families and friends.
Thank the Disneyland to reserve a public area (it is also regarded as a part of Disneyland Resort literally) for people to hang out and have fun at weekends. You don’t have to pay for entering the Inspiration Lake and it is definitely a very relaxing place for stressed workaholic to take a breath. (Hmmm the place, however, is a bit disastrous when you get there on Sunday since there will be a lot of kids yelling and running around – you will be horrified.)
The Inspiration Lake was located in the centre which was surrounded by a very long walking trail. That took me around 45 mins to finish a walk (at the same time I was taking some photos, so you guys might spend less time than me 😀 ) When you went there by sunset, you could find the reflected sun in the lake / the ponds around and the sun above the sky both appeared at the same time! That was a really interesting scene which rarely happened in urban district.
The scenery here, somehow, would make you believe that you were in Europe lol … (it was a sweet perfect illusion indeed) HK Families liked spending a day trip here – bringing their kids to have a walk around the lake – and enjoyed their relaxing holiday. You could also choose to sit somewhere randomly and chitchat with your mates. Time really passed so slow when you got there.
For me, this place was full of magic because it could offer you a moment of peace in your life and mind (mindfulness training time!!!). If you were always a busy person from the city, you probably need to consider to visit this place and seek your moment of silence. Of course, I would only recommend you to drop by in a sunny winter day XD That would be like a burning oven if you came here in summer. (I am not kidding. The summer in Asia always kill me badly….)
